FAQ

Does one need experience in Tai Chi Chuan or meditation to enroll in the class?

No. The class is an Introductory Program designed for people with no experience in Tai Chi Chuan or Meditation.

Can a student with experience in Tai Chi Chuan or meditation benefit from the class?

Yes. This class is unique in that Theory and Philosophy are emphasized so that the student may more fully integrate their Tai Chi Chuan practice into their every day lives. Also as an intensive in the fundamentals of Tai Chi Chuan one can deepen an existing Tai Chi Chuan practice.

Is it possible to pay by credit card or travellers checks?

Yes you can pay by Master Card or Visa,thorough Pay Pal, you do not need a Pay Pal account to make the transaction.
No, we do not acccept travellers checks.

In what currency do I pay the course fee?

Thai "Baht".

How do I pre-register to secure my place in the class?

Please notify us by e mail the dates of the class you wish to attend we will reserve space for that class and confirm back to you by e mail.

When is check-in?

Around midday the day before the class starts.

What is included in the class fee?

48 hours of instruction and feedback. One video feedback sessions, training manual, drinking water, fresh fruit and herb tea served before the morning sessions.

Will the student be able to practice on his or her own after the program?

Yes. The program is designed to give the student the skills to continue their Tai Chi Chuan practice with out further instruction, however many students choose to stay on for a while longer to deepen their practice.

Does the class meet on the weekends?

Yes. As an Intensive program the most is made out of the time in study and practice. The program runs ten days consecutively.

Are students expected to study and practice in-between class sessions?

Yes. Students are expected to study and practice for at least one hour a day in-between the training sessions. The repetition is needed to bring the movements into the memory of the body so the students will not forget the movements.

Does the student need special clothing or shoes for the program?

All the student needs is loose fitting clothing, no shoes are required for the class as we practice barefoot on mats. This allows the student to better feel and learn to " communicate with the earth", develop a feeling of rooting and discharging energy or chi. In cold climates, thin-soled shoes are needed to keep the feet warm.

Are there any physical requirements for the class?

Only that the student be in reasonably good health and be able to move their bodies freely.

Is there an age limitation?

No. The youngest of our students has been 14 years old and the eldest student was 74 years old.

What is the average age of the students?

Most Students are between the ages of 20 and 45 years old.

 

Where does one eat during the eight-day program?

There are many restaurants and food stalls with in walking distance of the Naisuan House. In the morning before class there is fresh fruit and herb tea and coffee provided for the student free of charge. This is intended to give the student enough energy to practice before breakfast.
